Getting Started

How do I upload a file?

1. Visit the homepage
2. Agree to the Terms of Service by checking the box
3. Drag and drop your file or click to browse
4. Wait for the upload to complete
5. Copy your shareable links

What file types are supported?

We support all file types including images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP), videos (MP4, AVI, MOV), documents (PDF, DOC, TXT), archives (ZIP, RAR), apps (APK), game files, and more. For security reasons, we do not allow Windows/Mac executable files (.exe, .bat, .app) to protect users from malware.

What is the maximum file size?

Files up to 2GB are supported. Uploads are stored for 7 days. For permanent storage, upgrade to Pro (from $5/mo) or a Foldr Space (from $3/mo).

Sharing Files

How do I share my uploaded file?

After uploading, you'll receive two types of links:
- Download Page: A user-friendly page with file info and download button
- Direct Image URL: (For images only) Direct link for embedding in websites, Discord, etc.

Can I track how many times my file was downloaded?

Yes! The download page shows the total number of downloads for your file. This counter updates each time someone views or downloads the file.

Is there a password protection option?

Currently, we don't offer password protection for files. Files are secured through unique, unguessable share tokens. Only people with the exact link can access your file.

Storage & Expiration

How long are files stored?

Files are automatically deleted after 7 days. For permanent storage, upgrade to a Pro plan (from $5/mo) or a Foldr Space (from $3/mo).

Can I keep my file forever?

Yes! Pro plans (from $5/mo) include permanent storage. Foldr Spaces (from $3/mo) also provide persistent cloud storage. Permanent files never expire and keep the same sharing links forever.

What happens after 7 days?

Files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers after 7 days. The sharing links will no longer work. Make sure to save or download important files before they expire, or upgrade to a Pro plan or Foldr Space for permanent storage.

Swappable Images

What are Swappable Images?

Swappable Images give you a permanent image URL where you can swap the underlying image anytime without changing the URL. Perfect for stream thumbnails, dynamic content, or any embed that needs updating.

How many swappable image slots do I get?

Pro plans include 3 swappable image slots with up to 25 swaps per hour and 7 versions saved. Higher-tier Pro plans get more slots, faster swap rates, and unlimited version history.

How do I swap an image?

1. Go to Swappable Images
2. Create a new slot or select an existing one
3. Upload a new image to replace the current one
4. The embed URL stays the same, but the image updates everywhere instantly

Can I revert to a previous image?

Yes! Starter plans have access to the last 7 versions. Higher-tier Pro users have unlimited version history. Click on any previous version to restore it.

Developer API

What can I do with the API?

Our REST API lets you programmatically upload files, manage your uploads, and get shareable links. Build file hosting into your apps, automate uploads, or integrate with your workflows.

How do I get an API key?

1. Visit developers/signup
2. Enter your email to create a developer account
3. Verify your email via magic link
4. Generate API keys from your dashboard

How much does the API cost?

The API has a trial tier for testing and light usage. Higher limits and additional features are available with paid plans. See API pricing for details.

Where can I find documentation?

Full API documentation is available at developers/docs. It includes endpoints, authentication, examples, and error codes.

Bulk Upload

What is Bulk Upload?

Bulk Upload lets you upload up to 50 files at once and share them all with a single folder link. Perfect for client deliverables, project files, or sharing multiple files with a group.

How much does Bulk Upload cost?

Pricing is based on total size:
• Up to 2GB total: $1.99
• 2GB - 5GB total: $2.99
• Over 5GB total: $3.99

Files are stored for 30 days, then automatically deleted.

How do I share my bulk upload folder?

After uploading, you'll receive a folder link. Anyone with this link can view all files, download individual files, or download everything as a ZIP archive.

Foldr Spaces

What is a Foldr Space?

A Foldr Space is your personal permanent storage space with flexible subscription plans. Choose from Basic 5GB ($3/mo), Standard 20GB ($7/mo), or Premium 100GB ($15/mo). Save 20% with yearly billing. Cancel anytime.

How do I access my Foldr Space?

Foldr Spaces use magic link authentication - no passwords needed! Request a magic link via email at /foldr-space/login and we'll send you a secure access link.

Can I upload more files to my Foldr Space?

Yes! You can upload files anytime within your storage quota. Each file can be up to 2GB. You can also delete files to free up space for new uploads.

What happens if I lose my magic link?

No problem! Visit /foldr-space/login, enter your email, and we'll send you a new magic link. You can request a new link as many times as needed.

Security & Privacy

Is my file secure?

Yes! Files are stored with industry-standard encryption and secured with unique, unguessable tokens. Only people with the exact link can access your file.

Do you scan or look at my files?

We do not manually review files unless abuse is reported. We use automated security scanning to detect malware and viruses for everyone's safety. We respect your privacy and don't access file contents for any other purpose.

What information do you collect?

We collect minimal information: file metadata (name, size, type), IP addresses for abuse prevention, and basic analytics. We do NOT require registration or collect personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

Upload failed or stuck?

- Check your internet connection
- Ensure file is under 2GB
- Try a different browser
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Disable browser extensions temporarily

"Rate limit exceeded" error?

We have upload limits to prevent abuse: 10 files per hour, 50 files per day per IP address. Wait for the time period to reset and try again.

File not found or expired?

Files are automatically deleted after 7 days. If you see this error, the file may have expired or been removed for policy violations.

Blocked file type error?

For security reasons, we don't allow executable files (.exe, .bat, .app, etc.). This protects all users from malware. Try uploading documents, images, videos, or archives instead.

Policies & Reporting

What content is not allowed?

We prohibit: illegal content, copyrighted material without permission, malware, adult content, violence, hate speech, spam, and deceptive content. See our Terms of Service for the complete list.

How do I report inappropriate content?

Every file download page has a "Report This File" button. Select the violation type and submit. We review all reports promptly and take action within 24-48 hours.

For copyright infringement claims, please use our official DMCA process. Include file URL, your contact info, and proof of ownership.
